YEAR 11 AND COLLEGE ADVICE.

I have just started my first year at college and I am now in my second week and I am not enjoying it...

When I was in Year 11 choosing a college to go to and what course to do was difficult. I didn't have any idea on what I wanted to do in the future.

My school has its own sixth form along with 2 other schools all leading the college. I wanted to apply to there and another college that is near to me. I managed to get into my schools college with more than the 5 A*-C grades at GCSE...

I decided to choose Psychology,Sociology and Double Health and Social Care (which is equivalent to 2 subjects) So all together including my English GCSE I have 5 subjects to revise and learn. Except for English all of my options are subjects I have never learnt about before...

I am finding it too difficult and want to drop Psychology and Sociology.

ANY ADVICE?
I would look at alot of options as now here in the UK we have to stay in school/education until we are 17 (Year 12's) and for Year 11's now 18.

  •  I would look at apprenticeships and also a lot of colleges as they have certain grades that you need to achieve in your GCSE's.
  • I decided to apply to 2 collages so I had a back up plan encase my results were not what I was expecting. I would recommend this as my brother did not get the grades he was expecting and only applied for one college an didn't get in. So he had to apply for another one and take a subject he didn't want to do. So he wasted a year on something he didn't want to do!
  • I would recommend you look at several colleges and apprenticeships and keep your options open. Also choose subjects/courses that you enjoy at GCSE and don't pick random subjects
  • Another thing I wish I did more was revised more for my exams. I might have got more GCSE's.
  • SO EVEN THOUGH THE TEACHERS NAG YOU TO REVISE DO IT TRUST ME!!

I hope you enjoyed reading this and got some ideas on what to do when you leave school.
